Our customer in Hamburg replaced an elementary weir type penstock in a sewer. The new XL4 weir type penstock 900 × 900 mm for a water column of 7.6 m regulates the inflows and outflows in the sewer and thus ensures wastewater disposal for the majority of the inhabitants of the Hamburg Elbe island of Wilhelmsburg.

Installation challenge:

• Poor wall quality of the sewer
• Very limited installation space
• Installation work had to be carried out quickly due to necessary road closures

Safe & fast implementation:

• Compensation for the poor wall quality using a 2000 × 2000 mm cover plate before the DN 1500 opening
• Ready-to-install delivery of the weir type penstock and therefore quick installation with simple stud bolts
